How life can be stale yet move on…

Hi,

It been nearly a year since my last Blog entry, I have not had the best year where I am located and mentally, but,  when looking back, I have had a great year for my education of the Cripple Creek District in Colorado, USA!

So many things I have been able to get hold of in terms of photographs and such! And, the last month I have got hold of – at quite a big expense though 😦 sadly enough, but it had to be done – quite many glass negatives! 🙂

And, last night, I won a view where a mine I lost a picture of just minutes into the year of 2007 was much better viewed on the one I won then the one I lost! That was great, and, it did not cost me a leg and a arm either! 🙂
In fact, with the shipping to Norway of that and the 9 other views, this particular view of a area and a mine called Caledonia Mine costs me “only” US$ 63,41 which for what I have had to pay over the years for various views up into the hundredths of dollars is quite a great deal!
Made me real happy!!
Can’t remember what I lost the other view for though… I just remember that view was taken looking more north from across Squaw Gulch, the south side so to speak, and the view from last night is looking more east, not showing Squaw Gulch at all, but I see partly the roadbed of the Florence & Cripple Creek up on a hill at left.

So, while I do feel life is standing still, stale, and nothing good really happens, and life is taking a bad turn all the time around me, in terms of my ability and chances to learn about the history of the Cripple Creek District through images, that really has not stood still at all, and I feel blessed I am able to put aside some money each month to pursue this very important part of my life, what I live and bread for, what keeps me going when things are hard here we live…

The History of the “Greatest Gold Camp on Earth” is still filled with mysteries, hopefully, I will be able to still keep on collecting and learning parts of them over the years to come!

Best wishes

Tuesday, bad times + a little good

Howdy,

Not much, been a bad period with lot of war with Tore.

I’ve become broke, with a help of a friend finding me some old photographs related to the Cripple Creek District – which I received today in the mail. 🙂

So, some nice stuff do happens, but mostly it been a bad week and more.

I’ve tried to research my area of love a little, spent some time digging around in the Colorado Old Newspaper site and doing some similar work trying to stay on the top of life, but failing miserable most of the time. 😦

But, I’m alive, I got some great old – but faded unfortunately – photographs I can scan and play around with, and I’m still finding info on the Newspaper site I’m going through at the moment, so I should not complain to much. 🙂

No Trainz work have been done, fall is closing in on us and I need to decide if I should go on a trip over to the west coast of Norway this weekend or not…

Till next time, take care

Yes!! Life can be good sometimes

Hello world,

Forty minutes ago I was tired, stressed and very much in fear I would loose out on a picture I so wanted (I even used the word desperately :-)) – and now, all that is left is to pay for both that and a “friend” of it, including the the shipping of course + the long await of it to reach me through the mail in about 1,5 week. 🙂

YES!!

It looks like a friend of mine is correct, the Cripple Creek maniacs (my words – including my self… :P) is all on vacation leaving this great stuff behind for me to get hold of. 😉
Me happy, me very much happy!!

I bought some great photographs from a friend of mine in Montrose Colorado in June 2009 – it cost me dearly through, but still felt better then having to fight for them through eBay.
And, most likely for most of them, I got a good price.

Judging on this morning, I could get better deal through eBay, but I still doubt it in reality as this morning was one of those rare moments where hardly no-one cares about what is selling on eBay of the regular casts…
I have had to have big fights before – so…

Either way, I’m happy, in a need for a breakfast. 🙂

Auctions I won for the curious:
Item #390071064741
Item #110415393486

It’s now 08:30 Sunday morning, breakfast is eaten, and it is time to start the normal morning routines…

I’ve been through eBay, figuring out the usernames for those that fought me on the two images and see that not all the regular Cripple Creek maniacs are on vacation after all. 🙂

morganluver, my dear old unknown companion that I think I like but never have met – and dislike to loose for most of the time, but still feel happy it was to him and not someone else 😛 – was interested in the Lee-Isabella photo – but not big time.

portlandgold, I don’t know him – but I have a friend who does from what I been able to gather, he was the first bidder on both, and while I did beat him (yeah :P) he was also beaten by the fellow I have a strange great feel over being able to beat on eBay…

mmfblue, this is the person I used to loose all the great pictures to in the old days, and while I do understand we all in it for the fun and history – I sort of get great pleasure out of being able to overbid this username. 🙂
Way more then with most other names – which may be a bad thing against the person behind this name as I have no idea who that person really is. Could be the greatest person in the world for all I know – but I doubt that.
morganluver is for me a greater person as he after all did reply to a contact try I did on eBay a few years back – and even sent me an email a week or so later with a pointer to an ebay listing.

As time was bad then for me, personally, I never followed up on that email – just found it laying around here the other day – but it meant a great deal to me, as it gave me a feel about how this person is. 🙂
A helpful person.

I guess the two other also is helpful persons, just more cautions to people on the Internet. 🙂

Either way, I blabbered enough now I think.

Have a great day!

Bye 2006

For one hour and twenty minutes ago 2006 was history here I’m located, and right now, I lost my first ebay auction this year… 😦

There was not to be a picture of the Caledonia Mine in the Cripple Creek District for me, to bad…

The good thing is though that i saved money, as I’m low on cash now and there is so much Cripple Creek stuff out there yet to be part of my education of the area… 🙂

Let us hope 2007 will prove to be a good year, for everything.

Till then, good night world!

Wow, life is good sometimes!!!

Hi,

Today I got the package I been waiting for around 2 weeks, it’s been at the post office since Saturday, but due to various reason I just got to it today.

It’s a book from the Cripple Creek District (of course.. LOL) and holds several years (not that many…) of annual reports for the Portland Gold Mining Company – think it was 1895 – 1903 – and beside all the “boring text” info it had a lot of maps and trillions of photographs!!!

Boy did it make me feel happy – so happy!!

Of other news, we had the first concrete work done at the new house in Eidsvoll, Norway…

Now, I go back to my book…
